Regular Critique Session

Hosted by: Mike Verant and Philip Thorne

Would you like to have your literary work of 7,000 words or fewer critiqued by other writers in our friendly environment? If you have attended at least one Berkeley Critique Session before, you're qualified! Recognizing that our members most susceptible to COVID - 19 will still be under quarantine for this session, and perhaps all of us, this Meetup will be held via Zoom online conferencing software. You can access audio with just your phone, no internet required. Or for video and audio participation, use an Internet - enabled computer, tablet, or smartphone. Please email Becca(becca@thegourmez.com) to request a critique slot. It's first come, first served, and you will need to follow the following guidelines to submit your story or excerpt: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ag4cvCJJQNDhyle3FIteMbaYKWUdf9swfnWHDwjXC_Y/pubJust attending to critique? Two weeks before the meeting, links to the submissions and instructions for joining the session will be emailed from admin@EBSFFW.org to members who have RSVPed yes. If you don't get this email, please check your junk email or promotional email folders. If you RSVP fewer than two weeks before the session, please contact one of the Event Hosts to send the link to you. If you sign up only a day or two before the session, we may not be able to send you the manuscript link in time...but do feel free to come see how our critique sessions work, regardless! Our rules of engagement explain the style of critique we use. Please read those here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RKp0hisz-RSZgE1xF65DzUhOwRQZ6JqwAJ5fbAwrCwU/edit?usp=sharingIf your work is being critiqued, we ask that you send $5 to the Meetup organizer to help pay our Meetup dues. All other members are encouraged to come listen, critique, and meet other writers for free. We do offer critiques for works longer than 7,000 words as well. But you have to attend, and then submit to, one of these monthly sessions first. Please feel free to ask a member of the admin team for more info.
